Strange Game

Tatyana Palchuk Biography

In a space bathed in gilded light and vibrant colors, a black, enigmatic cat engages in a mysterious game with a girl, using chestnuts instead of conventional game pieces. Perhaps the game’s stakes involve ownership of the ancient city visible in the background. The steam rising from a cup of coffee transforms into luminous golden clouds in the sky. A golden umbrella shields the ancient city from either golden or real rain. The game table appears to float upon a sparkling body of water or an indistinct sea of gold. Everything exudes an air of fantasy and surreal wonder. The atmosphere is light and tantalizingly intriguing. One can’t help but wonder: what exactly is unfolding in this captivating scene?
