Luo Jie

Education & Background

Luo Jie finds redemption and purification through the laborious process of painting, which echoes the tragic course of his father’s life. Initially held back by family obligations, he felt a sense of failure until his father’s death, which allowed him to fully embrace his artistic calling.

His renowned Imprisoned series features paintings of entangled ropes representing his suffering and loss, reflecting his life’s journey.

Luo Jie’s artworks have been exhibited internationally in various countries, including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Netherlands. Notably, he was selected to exhibit his paintings at the prestigious Venice Biennale in June 2013.

His paintings are part of public collections at the Yuangong Art Museum and Qinghe Art Museum.

Luo Jie’s art has garnered significant interest at auctions, with a promising record of HK$302,400.
