Education & Background
Liu Yu Jun, born in Shandong in 1963, began his artistic journey in 1996, showcasing his works at the 8th National Fine Arts Exhibition in Beijing. He has actively participated in international exhibitions across Europe, including Germany, Italy, Belgium, and France.
In 2005, Liu Yu Jun initiated his Unidentified Liquid series, portraying modern Chinese women living in cities—capable and articulate. Using black, white, and grey, he skillfully paints their portraits, accentuating their features and incorporating blue unidentified liquid. This liquid symbolizes the fears and insecurities that modern women may carry, adding depth and dynamism to the paintings.
Throughout his career, Liu’s works have reached global audiences, including the U.S. market in 1998. He has taken part in numerous international art fairs and exhibitions, leaving a notable impact. Additionally, his works have been auctioned in Belgium to support charitable causes, and he has created trophies for 2008 Olympic game winners. Liu Yu Jun’s art serves as a tribute to women, aiming to evoke respect and love for their strength and presence.
